Today, the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski visited the candidates attending Basic NCO Course for professional development and training at TC Pepelishte and ATA Krivolak.
During his visit of the 1st group of Army members on professional training, who will receive NCO rank after completing the course, General Gjurchinovski gained an insight into training extent and way of conduct under the authority of the Training and Doctrine Command.
Addressing the course attendees – NCO candidates, the Chief of the GS firstly informed them on the current engagement of the Army to assist institutions in dealing with the pandemic caused by COVID 19. After that he underlined the importance of NCOs in Army’s chain of command and especially in the training process as ‘the backbone’ of the armed forces, as in all other NATO Armies.
Thereby, he stressed that the efforts and strive for gaining an NCO rank by this 1st generation of NCOs, after gaining full-fledged NATO membership, gains in significance since they will become the 1st NATO NCOs in the true sense of the word, since the training tactics, techniques and procedures follow NATO standards.
The current NCO course is first of the two planned to be realized, with 60 participating candidates for NCOs, selected from all units of the Army of Republic of North Macedonia, in accordance with the Regulation for Officer and NCO candidates admission, through an internal ad in the Army.
