A delegation of the Hungarian Armed Forces (AF), led by the Chief of the General Staff, General Gábor Böröndi, is on a two-day official visit to the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia.
After being received with high military honors, at the Water Training Camp in Ohrid, General Gábor Böröndi met with his host, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lavchiski. The bilateral cooperation between the two allied NATO armies to date and the possibilities for further improvement, through activities of mutual interest (training and exercises, exchange of experiences and use of training facilities) were discussed at the meeting. It was concluded that the bilateral inter-army cooperation, which is continuously at a high level, contributes to security and stability in the region.
During the official meeting, the delegation from the Hungarian Armed Forces was introduced to the process of transformation and modernization of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, the structure of the Special Forces, the bilateral cooperation between the Special Forces and the capacities of the ATA “Krivolak”.
As part of the joint training with the Special Forces of the Hungarian Armed Forces, a methodical-demonstration exercise titled “Assault on a Waterborne Object and Command Post” was carried out, as well as a tactical-technical exhibition where part of the equipment used during the training was presented. Following the exercise, the generals emphasized that, in addition to strengthening interoperability, this joint training also reinforces mutual friendship.
Support during natural disasters, as well as the participation of the Hungarian Armed Forces Army Band in the concert that has been traditionally performed for several years on New Year’s Eve, further strengthens the strong partnership and cooperation.
