Today, ARM Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski had a meeting with NATO’s Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General James Everard, in the GS of ARM.
At the meeting, General Velichkovski expressed gratitude for the support ARM receives from the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, stressing that a strategic military partnership is essential for ARM to achieve complete interoperability according to NATO standards. ARM Chief of Staff expressed expectations for continuing support for full NATO membership of the Republic of Macedonia, pointing out the fact that ARM has reached the required standards of the Alliance, which is confirmed by the long-standing participation in the NATO-led missions.
During the meeting General James Everard expressed satisfaction with the previously demonstrated capabilities and results of the ARM servicemen in peace support operations and international exercises, expecting the Republic of Macedonia to get the place it deserves.
ARM Chief of Staff will also attend the NATO workshop for coordination of military partnerships, hosted by the Republic of Macedonia this year.
The workshop will last several days and about 200 representatives from NATO and partner countries will participate in it. Several topics will be covered including the following: NATO-led operations and partner participation in these operations, harmonization of partner processes, education, training and practice.
