Today, 8th of April (Tuesday), the Chief of the GS of the ARM, Colonel General Gorancho Koteski awarded the Golden badge of the Army for partnership, coordination and cooperation to the Command Sergeant Major of the Vermont National Guard (NG), Sergeant Major Forest T. Glodgett.
The decoration to the Command Sergeant Major of the Vermont NG was awarded in the presence of the US Defense Attaché in Republic of Macedonia, Colonel Jeffry Predmore , guests from the Vermont NG, Command Sergeant Major of the ARM, Dragan Stojanovski and part of the key personnel from the GS of the ARM.
While presenting the award, General Koteski pointed out the successful performance of the tasks in the joint deployment of the Arm and Vermont NG members in the task force ‘Phoenix’ in Afghanistan, and also the excellent cooperation with this US state which is also a partner in the cooperation with the ARM. Congratulating the Sergeant Major Glodgett on the given contribution, the Chief of the GS of the ARM emphasized that, up to now, around 3000 members of the ARM have been involved in various forms of education and training with the Vermont NG, which resulted in reaching the standards of NATO, especially in training, by the members of the ARM in a relatively short period of time.
The Golden badge of the Army for partnership, coordination and cooperation is a high decoration of the ARM, which is awarded to the Sergeant Major Glodgett for his contribution to the realization of a large number of courses and different training for the Arm NCOs in Republic of Macedonia as well as in the State of Vermont. To him, this represented recognition by the ARM, of the particular contribution to the preparation and participation in the task force ‘Phoenix’ in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, when the ARM members were deployed together with the members of the Vermont NG.
The Command Sergeant Major of the Vermont National Guard, through bilateral cooperation with the US Army, gave an enormous contribution to the creation of the Program for NCO development in the ARM, with the application of which the ARM became a leader in this area in the region.
Today, Sergeant Major Glodgett is to give a lecture to the senior cadets at the Military Academy ‘Mihailo Apostolski’, and during his stay in Macedonia, he is also going to visit other ARM units.
The Vermont National Guard has been a partner of the ARM since 1994, and together are realized the activities for cooperation with the US Army, coordinated through the military contact program, which is an integral part of the entire bilateral cooperation between the two armies.
