Today, the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, who is currently paying an official visit to Brussels, participated in the regular session of NATO Military Committee in the format of Chiefs of General Staffs, which was held at NATO Headquarters.
During the conference led by MC Chairman, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach, after the addressing of General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg, in accordance with the agenda the Army Chiefs of GSs from 30 member states discussed the military planning and adaptation in the context of the NATO initiative 2030, the upcoming operations, missions and activities conducted by the Alliance.
During his stay in Brussels, General Gjurchinovski is going to participate in the EU Military Committee the next day, at a level of Chiefs of General Staffs, where under the leadership of EU MC Chairman, General Claudio Graziano, military and civilian missions and operations of EU will be discussed as part of its mutual security and defense policy.
Besides the planned agendas, the conferences of the highest military counseling bodies of NATO and EU also serve as a great opportunity for mutual meetings of first Army members that strengthen their mutual relations through the initiation of bilateral activities and exchange opinions.
The Republic of North Macedonia has actively participated and contributed to the peaceful NATO operations “Decisive Support” in Afghanistan and “KFOR” in Kosovo, as well as the EU missions “Altea” in Bosnia and Herzegovina and “EUTM RCA” in the Central African Republic.
