The Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, on the first day of the new 2021 accompanied by the commanders of: Operations Command, Major General Pavle Arsoski, 1st Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Besnik Emini, 4th Infantry Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Goran Trajanoski and the sergeant majors visited the members of the Army engaged on the southern border in the region of Gevgelija.
During today’s New Year’s tour of the army members who are part of the 4th Infantry Battalion, General Gjurchinovski wished them a happy New Year and praised the professionalism and engagement in, continuously in the last six years, assisting the border police in preventing illegal crossings in all weather conditions, taking care of the safety of citizens and state sovereignty.
During the visit, the Chief of General Staff was informed by the responsible senior officer of the engaged staff about the current situation in this part of the state border and the attempts for illegal crossings of the state border in the past period. At the end of the visit, the Chief of General Staff and the unit commanders had lunch with the soldiers.
In the past month, General Gjurchinovski, in support of the Army’s involvement in assisting institutions and helping citizens in preventing the spread of the Covid-19 virus, toured members of almost all garrison units throughout the country.
