The members of the Logistics Base (LB) of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, as part of the activities on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Army, today in the barracks “Ilinden” with a military ceremony marked 20th of May, the Day of the Unit.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Defence Bashkim Hasani, Deputy Chief of General Staff Major General Azim Nuredin, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Defence Dragan Nikolikj, Army Generals, representatives of the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior, General Staff of the Army and commanders of commands and units.
The members of the unit that provides the main logistical support to the commands and units of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia were addressed by the Deputy Chief of General Staff, Major General Azim Nuredin and the Commander of the LB, Colonel Muharem Muharemi.
In his address, General Nuredin said that logistics units for the past 30 years have been a part of every army activity carried out in the barracks, separate facilities and training grounds.
“I would like to express my gratitude for your special engagement in carrying out the mission – logistical support to the commands and units, without which the performance of the missions of other units in the Army would be uncertain, regardless of their technical equipment and training,” said General Nuredin.
The Commander of the Logistics Base, Colonel Muharem Muharemi, after the brief historical review of the unit, in his address to the audience emphasized the importance and contribution of the LB members, who provided logistical support for successful implementation of all Army activities in the past, encouraging them to continue with their professional execution of tasks and providing logistical support at the right time and in the right place.
During the ceremony, the members of the units and the Command of the Logistics Base were informed about the incentive measures for the achieved results in their work.
The Logistics Base, which has undergone several transformations during the 30-year period of the Army, continuously provides the full logistical support of the Army, thus enabling all other units to fulfill their tasks and missions.
In the current period, the members of the Logistics Base provide uninterrupted logistical support for the implementation of the largest international exercise “Swift Response 22”, which is performed in Krivolak, as well as all other activities in the Army.
The Logistics Base is the bearer of the traditions of the Razlovechko Uprising and the first logistical preparations for starting it, for which by the Decision of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Army for determining the days of units, the 20th of May is designated as a Day of the Logistic Base.
