A delegation of the Macedonian Army (ARM), led by the ARM Chief of General Staff LTC General Metodija Velichkovski is on an official visit to the KFOR Command in Prishtina. During the visit the delegation had a meeting with the KFOR Commander Major General Guglielmo Miglietta.
At the meeting in Prishtina, which was realized upon the invitation of the KFOR Commander, was discussed about the current security situation in the region, the activities around tackling security challenges and migrant crisis, as well as cooperation of ARM with KFOR. Both sides emphasized that despite the excellent cooperation between ARM and KFOR, there is a possibility for its further expansion in the upcoming period.
In addition to this visit, General Velichkovski had a separate meeting with the Macedonian Ambassador in Kosovo Mr. Ilija Strashevski.
Within the context of mutual cooperation, KFOR Command Sergeant Major Amedeo Russo visited ARM at the beginning of this week. He had a meeting with the sergeant majors of ARM, and a tour of the Army Training Area Krivolak, where he was acquainted with the opportunities for training at the polygon.
The Coordination center to support the host country has been functioning since June 2007 within the Logistics Support Command of the Army. Its main task is to coordinate with KFOR in customs and border procedures of transportation, including other needs of KFOR in the area of logistic provision, by which ARM indirectly participates in the KFOR mission.
