18th August – the Day of ARM, was marked at the city cemetery in Butel, in Skopje, by laying wreaths of fresh flowers at the graves of the presidents and supreme commanders Boris Trajkovski and Kiro Gligorov, and at the grave of General Mihajlo Apostolski at the partisans` graveyards. The wreaths were laid by: a delegation of ARM GS led by Chief of ARM GS Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski, a delegation of the Ministry of Defence led by the State Secretary Elizabeta Chupovska Ristova, the cabinet of the President of the Republic of Macedonia, The Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, NLF Association of War Veterans, Association of Reserve Forces of the Republic of Macedonia and other.
Wreaths of fresh flowers were also laid at the Memorial of the fallen soldiers from 2001 in front of MoD and GS of ARM, by a MoD delegation led by the Minister of Defence Zoran Jolevski, ARM GS delegation led by the Chief of ARM GS Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski, relatives of the fallen ARM soldiers and others.
With this act, tribute was paid to those who were dedicated to the establishment and development of the Macedonian Army.
Tonight at barracks “Ilinden” in Skopje, there will be an honorary 10 – gun salute shot with artillery weapons, which will announce the 24th birthday of ARM.
