The ARM Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Gorancho Koteski, today, (22 October) visited the Prilep garrison. The visit of the ARM Chief of Genral Staff of the barracks “Mirche Acev” in Prilep is within the framework of the plan to tour the Army garrisons, which began to be implemented at the beginning of the month. To date, the ARM Chief of General Staff has visited the Joint Operations Command (JOC) in the Kumanovo garrison and the Shtip garrison.
During the visit to the Prilep garrison, the ARM members performing regular duties in this garrison were informed by the Chief of the General Staff of the assignments execution, the future plans and the current situation in the ARM.
This is the first official visit of Lieutenant General Koteski to the barracks “Mirche Acev” in Prilep after its reactivation at the beginning of this year. He recognized the achievements of the ARM members who are part of this barracks as well as their efforts made in the past nine months for improving the working and living conditions in the Prilep garrison.
Today, during the visit, the Army Chief of Staff was accompanied by the JOC Commander, Major General Metodija Velichkovski, the Commander of the First Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Pavle Arsoski, chiefs of the ARM General Staff sections, and the Prilep garrison Commander. By touring the barracks “Mirche Acev” its capacity, functionalities, living and working conditions were assessed and it was concluded that the ARM members have conditions for normal task execution.
At the end of the Prilep garrison visit, the ARM Chief of the General Staff met with the key personnel of the garrison where the attendees had the opportunity to ask questions related to the functioning of the service, the normative-legal nature and the current issues of interest to the members of the Prilep garrison.
The Artillery Battalion which is a subordinate unit to the First Mechanized Infantry Brigade along with a Logistics Support Unit are located in the barracks “Mirche Acev”.
