An ARM delegation led by the Chief of General Staff of ARM Lieutenant General Gorancho Koteski officially visited the Serbian Army. Today (6th May 2015) in Belgrade, the CGS of ARM was greeted with a military arrival ceremony by the Chief of GS of Serbian Army, General Ljubisha Dikovic.
Main topics at the meeting were: improvement of the bilateral cooperation between both armies, possibilities of using the educational and training facilities of the Serbian Army as well as joint contribution of both armies in the regional projects of cooperation.
At the press briefing, General Koteski said that the cooperation with the Serbian Army had been improving constantly, mentioning that the Training Area (TA) “Krivolak” was offered to be used for training as well as the Training Center for Pilots. He also mentioned that sharing the experience of the Serbian Army’s participation in UN led missions is invaluable. In addition, he mentioned that ARM personnel could be trained in the Serbian Army’s centers for combat and technical issues.
General Dikovic expressed his satisfaction of the cooperation with the ARM, and also he confirmed that Serbian Army was going to continue their contribution to the joint regional projects as well as offering all professional personnel for training in order to help ARM in their need of training. He supported the bilateral cooperation between both countries and mentioned that they might use TA “Krivolak” for military exercises as well as training of Serbian Army personnel in the Macedonian Training Center for Pilots.
After the meeting with the CGS of Serbian Army, General Koteski met the Minister of Defense of Republic of Serbia, Bratislav Gashic. At their meeting they confirmed that the excellent bilateral defense cooperation between both countries strengthens the peace and stability in the region. General Koteski will meet the President of Republic of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolic, too.
ARM and the Serbian Army have an excellent bilateral cooperation in several fields including, education, training exercises, military-medical training and etc.
During his visit of the Republic of Serbia, CGS of ARM will also visit the Military Academy, the Simulation Center, the Military Medical Academy and the training base of Serbian Army “South”.
