Today, the 10th of July, 2014, The President of Republic of Macedonia and the Supreme Commander of the armed forces PhD Gjorgje Ivanov visited the Water Training Center in Ohrid. The President of Republic of Macedonia was accompanied by the Chief of General Staff of ARM Lieutenant General Gorancho Koteski and the Training Command and Doctrine Commander Colonel Ljupcho Kostovski. The goal of this visit was to familiarize the Supreme Commander of the armed forces with the work and the tasks of the facilities at the Water Training Center.
President Ivanov said that the Water Training Center has all facilities that are necessary for water training, according to the NATO standards for water training for the ARM personnel. He underlined that the water training is the last part of the training of Special Operations Regiment personnel who have been preparing for the upcoming exercise, which is going to be a showcase of their training and readiness for facing all potential challenges of this unit.
Water Training Center in Ohrid is a part of the Training Command and Doctrine of ARM, whose main assignment is individual and collective training support in swimming, diving, rescuing, and maneuvering vessels of mainly personnel of the SOR, Military Police battalion, Military Academy cadets, as well as any other ARM unit that requires this kind of training. The Water Training Center has training facilities available and its own beach.
