Today, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Macedonia, Radmila Shekjerinska, together with the Chief of General Staff of the ARM, Major General Vasko Gjurchinovski, visited the members of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia engaged in supporting the Ministry of Interior to deal with the migrant crisis at the southern border .
At the watchtower “Bogorodica” at the Macedonian-Greek border, the Defence Minister was informed by the members of the ARM about the current security situation at the southern border, the tasks carried out by the engaged forces, the prevented attempts for illegal crossing of the state border in the area of responsibility ARM in the past period, as well as the manner of engagement of the forces in the coming period.
Within the framework of today’s visit, on which a part of the accommodation facilities of the ARM members in Bogdanci was visited, the Commanders of the Joint Operations Command, Major General Pavle Arsoski and the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski, were also present.
