On the occasion of celebrating the 20th anniversary of existence of “Special Forces” and the day of the Regiment for Special Operations, today in Ilinden barracks there was an open day for visitors.
The Commander of the Regiment for Special Operations Brigadier-General Vasko Gjurchinovski welcomed the numerous guests and visitors. He accentuated the importance of the RSO, which was formed as the first Special Force Unit with professionals and then grew up into the most well trained unit in ARM, and in the region.
He stressed that investment in personnel training is one of the key priorities for achieving the required level of training of the unit, for which efforts were made in the past 20 year, as well as for adequate equipment. According to the Commander of Regiment for Special Operations, strict criteria and standards of selection will continue to be the basis for entry into special units for ARM members from all categories.
Today, at the open day in RSO, visitors of all ages had the opportunity to learn about combat means , techniques and equipment with which the RSO units are equipped. “Wolves“ & “Rangers” of ARM demonstrated practical training of “multifunctional tower climbing”, “close combat-an ambush”, through tactical drills, and “ securing of senior military officers” which was shown by using drones and helicopters. Also they demonstrated and impeccable training and psychological readiness to perform more types of martial arts.
