The President of the Republic of North Macedonia and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Stevo Pendarovski, accompanied by the Chief of the Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, visited the “Jane Sandanski” barracks in Shtip, as part of the “Face to Face with the President” project.
During the visit, President Pendarovski got familiar with some of the activities performed by the North Macedonian Army members of the Second Infantry Battalion within the First Infantry Brigade.
The Commander-in-Chief and the Chief of General Staff observed the tactical exercise: Tactics, Techniques and Movement of Infantry Unit in Urban Area. It was conducted by members of the 3rd Infantry Platoon of the 1st Infantry Company, which has been named the best unit in the battalion under the command of Lieutenant Neda Volcheva, two years in a row.
Some of the equipment available to the unit was presented to the Commander-in-Chief, as well as the planned activities related to the initial assessment of the Light Infantry Battalion according to “CREVAL” NATO standards, in the upcoming 2022.
