Today, in the Training and Doctrine Command, in “Alekso Damnievski-Bauman” barracks in Veles, a ceremony was held to promote 120 non-commissioned officers and 150 newly admitted professional soldiers in the Army took a solemn oath.
The Minister of Defense, Slavjanka Petrovska and Deputy Chief of the General Staff Major General Azim Nuredin attended and addressed the ceremony.
Army members from the ranks of professional soldiers who completed three-month training for non-commissioned officers in the Training and Doctrine Command were promoted to the first non-commissioned officer rank today, and the new professional soldiers took a solemn oath.
Minister Slavjanka Petrovska told the new non-commissioned officers that everyone who chooses the military profession has a unique mission, to serve his homeland and his people because the military profession is a great sacrifice and the highest honor, and to wear a uniform of a NATO member state is an additional responsibility.
The Minister stressed that building resilience as one of the key concepts of the NATO Alliance should always start with a personal example, adding that the readiness to react quickly, effectively and decisively to any situation shows our readiness to defend the values we share and to protect the country and the citizens.
Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Major General Azim Nuredin, wishing successful professional development to the new non-commissioned officers and newly admitted professional soldiers, told them to perform their future tasks and duties well and to represent the Army and the state with dignity.
Addressing the newly promoted non-commissioned officers, he stressed: “With your contribution and commitment as the main carriers of the training process, I am confident that in the future, for each achieved success of the units, but also for the army in general, your hard work will be recognized.”
He told the newly admitted professional soldiers: “Be proud that starting today you are part of the large family of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, where after successfully completed training, you will be put in a role to contribute to the preservation and strengthening of the sovereignty, independence and integrity of our country.”
The three best-ranked non-commissioned officers, Sergeant Dimche Vakadinski, Sergeant Filip Angjelovski, and Sergeant Aleksandar Trajkovikj were given recognition at the ceremony.
The ceremony for promotion of new non-commissioned officers and the solemn oath of professional soldiers was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Operations Command – Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski, representatives of the President’s Cabinet, the commanders of Army units, representatives of the Training and Doctrine Command, relatives and friends of the professional soldiers and the newly promoted non-commissioned officers.
