Today and tomorrow in the Army House in Skopje a workshop on “Gender Equality” is being held, organized by J-1 of the General Staff. The workshop is attended by Command Sergeant Majors of the General Staff, subordinate commands and units up to battalion level.
The purpose of the workshop is to familiarize the participants with the most important aspects of Resolution 1325 of the UN Security Council, adopted in 2000, which refers to gender equality from planning to execution, at all levels of decision making, command and control.
Topics like equality, rights of female personnel in the army, and opportunities for career development will be presented at the workshop. The training will be conducted by instructors from the Ministry of Defense and ARM with internationally recognized certificates.
A great importance is given to female population in the overall life of ARM by execution of this workshop, which is also a step ahead in raising awareness among ARM members about gender equality, in all its aspects.
