During his visit to the Republic of Turkey AF, yesterday (08.11.2013) CHOD Lieutenant General Gorancho Koteski laid a wreath of fresh flowers on the tomb of Atatürk in the Mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Ankara. They are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the death of the father of modern Turkey.
Yesterday, at the meeting with the CGS of the Republic of Turkey AF General Necdet Özel confirmed the excellent cooperation with the Turkish AF. General Özel emphasized that Republic of Turkey will continue to support Macedonia in becoming NATO member and he stressed that the unfair obstruction, because of which Macedonia still is not a NATO member, will one day end.
During his stay in Ankara General Koteski visited the Turkish Military Medical Academy GATA where he met the dean and the commander of this prestigious military institution of the Turkish AF. The cooperation between GATA and Military Medical Center of ARM was discussed at the meeting. General Koteski used the opportunity to meet the Macedonian cadets who are studying at the Turkish Military Medical Academy.
As it is well known ARM has an excellent cooperation with the Republic of Turkey AF in various areas but it is especially fruitful in training, military education, NATO led peace support missions participation and in equipping the units. The Republic of Turkey as a NATO member country is a strategic partner and a supporter of the Republic of Macedonia becoming a NATO member. The Turkish AF has donated ARM a significant amount of 20 million dollars in technical equipment.
