The Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, held a working meeting today with the Commander of NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Italy (NRDC-ITA), Lieutenant General Lorenzo D’Addario.
At the meeting in the General Staff, mutual commitments regarding future joint activities were discussed, which will further contribute to the development of our capabilities, training, and interoperability during NATO operations.
During the meeting, General D’Addario expressed gratitude for the support provided during the execution of the NATO Allied Reaction Force (ARF) exercise by NRDC-ITA, which was recently conducted on the territories of the Republic of North Macedonia and Kosovo. He emphasized that the exercise sent a clear message of NATO’s strong commitment to maintaining peace and stability.
General Lafchiski briefed General D’Addario on the current processes and activities within the Army, focusing on the development of capability goals through equipping and modernization, North Macedonia’s contributions to NATO operations, and plans for enhancing the capacities of the Krivolak Training Area.
The visit was conducted as part of Lieutenant General Lorenzo D’Addario’s tour of NATO member countries within the area of responsibility of the NRDC-ITA command, in which North Macedonia participates with one staff officer.
