KFOR commander, Major General Michele Risi, who was appointed to the post in November last year, today, paid his first visit to the General Staff of the Army and the Ministry of Defence, which is a regular annual activity of the KFOR Commander.
At the meeting with the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, issues of mutual interest were discussed, like international security challenges in the region and the area of responsibility of the mission, future planned activities with the KFOR forces and exchange of information.
During today’s visit General Risi also met with the Minister of Defence Radmila Shekerniska.
These annual meetings of high military officials have been of great importance for the regional security.
In 2007 the host country support Centre for Coordination was in full operational readiness, which was part of the Logistics base and its main task was coordination with the KFOR forces for customs and border procedures of transport, and other logistics, thus indirectly we were part of the KFOR mission.
