Today, the 5th of August, within the program for honoring the “18th of August- Army Day” at the Army stadium in Skopje, the final sports matches in honor of the Army Day were formally opened.
The finals were opened by the Deputy Chief of GS of ARM Lieutenant General Naser Sejdini, who congratulated the participants for showing desire and endeavour during the matches. On this occasion, General Sejdini underlined that sport is an important factor in army training and fitness, but also in developing the competitive spirit that contributes to better performance of military combat tasks.
In previous competitions held in all the ARM garrisons throughout the country, participated over 1,500 members, and around 250 army members will participate in the final competitions.
These sports matches are traditionally held every year within the celebration of the Army Day. The most successful unit will be awarded a trophy at the line-up ceremony on the Army Day, which will be held on the 17th of August, and the most successful teams and sportsmen will receive their rewards.
