Today, October 21, 2015, the Chief of GS of ARM Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski had a formal meeting with the Head of the Liaison Office of Greece in the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Theocharis Lalacos.
The Chief of GS of ARM appraised the collaboration between the armies of the two countries as extremely important, and emphasized that it should be broadened with new forms and material in the forthcoming period. Stressing the necessity to strengthen the regional collaboration in the field of defense General Velichkovski pointed out the effort to continue the projects for bilateral collaboration of ARM with the Armed Forces of the Republic of Greece.
In the past 16 years, the collaboration with the Republic of Greece in the field of defense was realized in the area of: security and intelligence, training and exercises, medical security, logistics and equipment. Several ARM officers and NCOs have been schooled at the high military educational institutions in the Republic of Greece.
Ambassador Lalacos pointed out that the collaboration in the field of defense is of great importance and that with reinforcing it, Republic of Macedonia and Republic of Greece will as two neighboring countries make a significant contribution to the stability of the region.
The Defense Attaché of the Republic of Greece to the Republic of Macedonia Colonel Nikolaos Arampatzis was also present at the meeting.
