Today, 4th February 2015, the Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Gorancho Koteski had an official meeting with the Ambassador of Germany in the Republic of Macedonia, HE Christine Althauser.
At the meeting, General Koteski expressed gratitude to Germany for the support of the Euro-Atlantic integration of the Republic of Macedonia, as well as the commitment to help our country in joining NATO. The Chief of General Staff stressed the excellent cooperation between ARM and German Bundeswehr, and that 170 ARM members were educated in its military educational institutions. He also noted the execution of ARM assignments in the north of Afghanistan as part of the regional command in Mazar E Sharif, where Germany is a leading nation.
Ambassador Althauser stressed that cooperation in the field of defence was of great importance to both countries and that in the future it would be extended through new forms. Strong support for Macedonia’s membership in NATO and the EU was once again expressed at the meeting.
