The Minister of Defence, Radmila Shekerinska, and the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the ARM, Major General Muhamet Racaj had a meeting with six ARM staff officers who will leave in the “Resolute Support” mission in Afghanistan, deployed in Train Advise Assist Command – North in Mazar-e Sharif.
“Your participation in the “Resolute Support” mission in Afghanistan is a double benefit for Macedonia – it shows our strong will to contribute to international peacekeeping missions, which strongly supports our ambition for NATO membership, but the participation also means a great experience for the Army of the Republic of Macedonia, which you will share with your colleagues”, the Minister said. She wished them a lot of success and good fortune in fulfilling the tasks and added that Macedonia is analyzing the possibility of increased engagement in this mission.
General Racaj wished them to present the Army and the Republic of Macedonia with dignity and success, emphasizing the importance of seriousness and professional performance of the tasks.
The six staff officers are the seventh rotation of the ARM in “Resolute Support” mission and their main objective is to provide training, counseling and support to the Afghan security forces.
