Today, 29th April, the Defense Minister Talat Xhaferi and the Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Gorancho Koteski met with the medical team of ARM who in the next six months is to participate in the sixteenth rotation of the ALTHEA mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the meeting, Minister Xhaferi and General Koteski were familiarized with the tasks and objectives of the team within the ALTHEA mission.
Minister Xhaferi expressed his satisfaction with the work of the of the ARM medical team in the mission ALTHEA thus far, underlining that he expects continuation of the successful representation of the ARM as well as flawless execution of tasks from the ARM sixteenth rotation of the ALTHEA mission.
General Koteski noted that the ARM medical team, in recent years, showed the capabilities and interoperability of the ARM within the EU mission in the best possible way, and that it hugely contributed to the promotion of ARM and the Republic of Macedonia.
On the occasion of the deployment of the sixteenth rotation of the ARM to the ALTHEA mission, after the meeting, a befitting celebration took place in front of the command of the brigade for logistic support of the ARM which was attended by the Joint Operations Command Chief of Staff Brigadier General Stojan Dimchov.
The ARM medical team will be led by Major Irena Dineva, and is composed of 10 people, professional medical and support staff, whose task within the ALTHEA mission is to provide general medical care for the needs of EUFOR, which are housed in the Camp Butmir in Sarajevo. Apart from the medical team within the ALTHEA mission, the Army will deploy one officer – legal adviser to the commander of EUFOR.
The ARM medical team has recently been completing the final preparations before the departure for Butmir. The regular rotation is planned to be carried out early May.
