Yesterday, December the 17th 2014, the Military orchestra of ARM at the ARM House in Skopje performed the traditional New Year’s concert.
The concert was attended by the Minister of Defense Zoran Jolevski, Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Gorancho Koteski, ARM generals, key service personnel in the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff, representatives from all commands and units of ARM, ambassadors and military attachés to the Republic of Macedonia, as well as other guests.
The Military orchestra was led by the conductors Lieutenant Colonel Dragan Dimitrov and Captain Goran Ilijevski. The New Year`s concert was performed in front of the audience in the ARM House second year- in-a and is becoming a tradition. The concert was performed in honour of the members of the MoD and ARM.
The carefully sorted out repertoire at yesterday’s evening concert consisted of film music themes and traditional Macedonian strings which indeed had awoken great interest. The audience was thrilled and applauded loudly when the national artist and guest at the concert opera singer Boris Trajanov performed. He performed “The Toreador Song” from the opera “Carmen” and “Puente de Aria (Burgos), Jerome” from the opera“ La Traviata”
At the concert, besides Trajanov, flute soloist Bajsa Arifoska, accordion soloist Vojche Petrushev and the choir of the Music Arts Faculty performed, and the Military Orchestra for the first time performed two new compositions which were a gift from the composer Ilija Pejovski.
Yesterday’s concert was the final concert for this years Military orchestra performance and a nice finish of a successful year during which the orchestra performed in more than one city in Republic of Macedonia as a part of the project “ ARM closer to its citizens”.
