Today, 6 March 2013 (Wednesday), in the barracks Ilinden in Skopje at 12.00 hrs, a methodological demonstration exercise was conducted entitled: “Standardized procedures for inspecting a scene of serious criminal offences”. The methodological demonstration exercise was conducted by the MP battalion in cooperation with MOI members and the Public Prosecution Office of the city of Skopje.
The exercise was attended by the JOC Commander, Brigadier General Metodija Velichkovski, the Chief of Department for Special Units in the MOI, General Sasho Mitevski, the Public Prosecutor from the Public Prosecution Office Skopje, Jovan Cvetanovski, the Special Operations Regiment Commander, the Commanders of the units directly subordinated to the JOC, senior MOI representatives, the MOI Rapid Deployment Unit and other guests.
The members of the Military Police Battalion in cooperation with the Criminal Investigation Department from the MoI conducted an exercise demonstrating the attack on VIPs in motorcade movement, manned by members of the Military Police. They demonstrated the standard operating procedures in situations such as: providing first aid by the medical team, intervention of the ARM unit for rapid intervention with helicopter and calling the department to combat crime. Representatives of the Criminal Investigation Department participated in the exercise in the procedure for casualty evacuation of foreign nationals. During the exercise the members employed modern means of criminological technical processing in the on-site inspection, which are used for: place demarcation, photographing, making croquis sketches, retrieval, collection and filing of the traces etc.
At the end of the methodology exercise Brigadier General Metodija Velichkovski spoke to the media and underlined the excellent cooperation which the ARM had with the MoI in dealing with such situations.
