Confidence, confirmed with previous joint activities and positive results arising from the partnership between the ARM and the Army of the US Armed Forces in Europe, as well as taking part in international exercises supported by this command, was the main topic of conversation during today’s visit of the ARM by Deputy Commander of US Land Forces in Europe, Major General Timothy McGuire.
At the meeting with the Chief of the ARM General Staff, Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski, who is the host to General McGuire, the modality and manner of joint participation in more significant activities organized by this command of the US Army for year 2017, were discussed.
During his visit of the ARM General Staff, Gen. McGuire also had a meeting with the Minister of Defense, Zoran Jolevski.
Continuous involvement of the ARM in numerous international exercises was presented at today’s meeting at the ARM General Staff, putting an accent on the international military exercise “Anaconda-16”, the largest military exercise organized in Europe in the past few decades. Furthermore, the capacities the ARM is able to provide for training and practice, were mentioned, and also the joint participation of the ARM and representatives of the US Land Forces in Europe in the forthcoming exercise “Saber Guardian-17”.
Also, the great number of declared units of the ARM, trained in accordance with NATO standards to take part in peace missions led by NATO, EU and the UN were discussed, and their contribution to keeping global peace and security.
