Today, a ceremony was held at the barracks “Chede Filipovski-Dame” in Kichevo for sending a unit from the 4th Infantry Battalion within the 1st Infantry Brigade to participate in the exercise “KFOR 30” in Hohenfels, Germany.
The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Defence, Baskim Hasani, Major General Zoran Mileski, State Secretary Dragan Nikolic and the 1st Brigade Commander, Colonel Sashko Lafchiski.
In his address to the present members of the 4th Battalion, Deputy Minister Hasani advised them to present their professionalism with dignity and said that these preparations for the participation in the NATO mission “KFOR” in Kosovo are an example of our commitment to the security and safety of the region.
This international exercise will last until the end of the month and it is organized by the United States Army Europe. Our Army will participate with one company that will perform exercise activities together with the members of the armies from the USA, Italy, Romania, Albania, Moldova, Latvia, Kosovo, Slovenia and Germany.
The purpose of the „KFOR 30“ exercise is to prepare the units for the KFOR mission in Kosovo, in support of the peace, stability and security and in support of the civilian authorities in Kosovo.
During the exercise, our members who have previously participated, together with their colleagues from the other participating countries, will work on standardizing the preparations of the staff in the rotations in the KFOR mission, or in other words, they will work on improving the interoperability with the partner forces in the procedures and processes.
