Today, 2 October 2013 (Wednesday), with a beginning at 13.30, the official closure for the “5th Footsal cup for peace” will take place at the Rasadnik sports arena in Skopje. The fifth Footsal cup for peace will be pronounced for closed by the Chief of the General staff of the ARM, Lieutenant General Gorancho Koteski, and while it lasted, the team from the Army of the Republic of Macedonia as host and teams from the armies from Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro weighed their forces in the field.
During the morning on the program are scheduled the semifinals between Montenegro and Croatia and Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in the afternoon the finale will take place along with the game for the third place. On this tournament the participants had a chance to make friends, enjoy sports and get to know Skopje and the beauty of Republic of Macedonia.
Today, the ceremony of the official closure hosted the Chief of the GS of the ARM and representatives from the participant armies, representatives from he MOD and the ARM GS and other guests. Tonight medals and trophies for the best will be given at the Army House at 19.30, as well as best shooter title, best goal keeper and the MVP of the tournament.
This footsal competition between the armies from the region is fifth in a row and it’s organized under the supervision of the ICMS, and the initiative was given during the fourth Military Olympic Games in India in 2007 in the frames of the Sports for peace seminar. The first footsal cup was played in 2009 when the host was the Serbian military, and the follow ups were played in Croatia (2010), Slovenia (2011) and Montenegro (2012).
