With a military ceremony in “Ilinden” barracks, today, the handover of duty Commander of the General Staff and Garrison Skopje Support Battalion (GSsb and GS) between Lieutenant Colonel Goce Jordanov and Lieutenant Colonel Medzait Memedi was held.
The Commander of the Logistic Base, Colonel Muharem Muharemi, at the beginning of his address stressed the importance of the General Staff and Garrison Skopje Support Battalion, which provides logistic support to most units and commands of the Army in its area of responsibility. The Commander expressed his gratitude to Lieutenant Colonel Goce Jordanov for the effort, energy and time in the realization of the tasks, as well as for the timely delivery of the logistic support in the required quantities. Colonel Muharemi congratulated the members of the General Staff and Garrison Skopje Support Battalion for the engagement so far in the realization of the tasks and asked for support to the incoming commander when operating the military team in the future.
The outgoing commander, Lieutenant Colonel Goce Jordanov, said that in the past 18 months, performing his duty during the global pandemic, he encountered numerous challenges and thanked Colonel Muharem Muharemi for his support in carrying out the tasks, and wished the incoming commander success in performing assigned tasks, good health and professional success.
The newly appointed commander, Lieutenant Colonel Medjait Memedi, thanked for the trust put in him and stressed that in the coming period he will continue to perform tasks and overcome all challenges that arise. Colonel Memedi wished good health and success on a personal and professional level to the personnel and the attendees of the ceremony.
At the end of the ceremony, there was an official handover of the unit’s flag, to the incoming Commander of the General Staff and Garrison Skopje Support Battalion.
Today’s ceremony was attended by the Chief of J-4 in the General Staff of the Army, Colonel Vasko Toshevski, as well as the commanders of the first subordinate units and units in the barracks “Ilinden” – Skopje.
