Macedonian peacekeepers, representatives of MAKKON- 10 in the peacekeeping mission “Resolute Support” in Afghanistan, marked the Independence Day, 8th September, solemnly and with dignity.
In a formal atmosphere, with a cake decorated with the colors of the Macedonian flag, there was a joint lunch organized by our peacekeepers and it was attended by TAAC-Command members led by the Commander, Brigadier General Yasar Dilber.
The observation of the holiday continued during the evening with a celebration attended by 60 guests from different contingents that participate in the mission and are stationed at the base at Hamid Karzai international airport in Kabul.
On the occasion, the Highest National Representative of MAKKON-10, Colonel Gjorgji Mitrinovski gave a speech.
“Marking the Day of Independence I firmly believe that our contingent will be the first that will present the Republic of North Macedonia in the “Resolute Support” mission as the 30th full member of NATO,” emphasized Colonel Mitrinovski.
The celebration was enriched with a ceremony during which the Brigadier General Yasar Dilber presented the members of the Macedonian contingent NATO-medals for participating in the mission and also gave a speech.
On that occasion, the Highest National Representative of MAKKON-10 Colonel Gjorgji Mitrinovski presented the Brigadier General with a plaque in honor of his forthcoming departure of the mission.
During the celebration, Major Aleksandar Stojkov had a presentation and authentically captured the beauties of our country in order to provoke them to visit and assure themselves.
The festivities concluded with a joint cocktail, and the attendees were presented with gifts with symbols of MAKKON-10 and our country.
