In the period from June 25 to 27, 2025, representatives of SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe), JFCNP (Joint Force Command Naples) and NRDC-ITA (NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Italy) visited the Republic of North Macedonia, in order to assess the capacities of our country within the framework of planning the exercise “STEADFAST DART 27 (STDT 27)”.
The reconnaissance, which was carried out at several locations, including the Army Training Area “Krivolak”, the Training Camp “Pepelishte” and the “Strasho Pindzur” barracks in Petrovec, had the purpose of getting the foreign representatives familiar with the infrastructural and logistic facilities, security aspects and technical possibilities of the locations, which are potential places for the implementation of the planned exercise.
Exercise STEADFAST DART 27, which is planned to be implemented in 2027, aims to test and improve the ability to operationally deploy and strengthen the elements of the Allied Rapid Reaction Force, to contribute to NATO’s deterrence and defense by demonstrating capabilities to prevent disruption of strategic lines of communication and expand air and naval power in alert zones.
Exercise STDT 27 is part of STEADFAST DEFENDER 27 and demonstrates the Alliance’s ability to execute a coordinated and rapid transition across multiple alert zones, enabling timely preparation, increased security, and enhanced strategic deterrence effects.
