The Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, today held a farewell meeting with Lieutenant Colonel Sean Ruffolo, Head of the Office of Defense Cooperation at the Embassy of the United States of America in our country, on the occasion of the completion of his three-year engagement in the country.
During the meeting, General Lafchiski expressed gratitude for the significant contribution and dedication of Lieutenant Colonel Rufolo, who played an important role in advancing bilateral defense initiatives, which directly support NATO priorities and contribute to strengthening regional security.
During Colonel Rufolo’s mandate, the Office of Defense Cooperation achieved significant cooperation with the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia in the direction of building and improving military capacities, and among the most significant achievements are the support for the development of the Light Infantry Battalion, the improvements in logistics and maintenance during operations, as well as the expansion of the capacities of the Army Training Area Krivolak. During his mandate, emphasis was also placed on the development of special operations forces, education and training of members of the Army in the United States, as well as the Army’s participation in numerous multinational exercises.
At the end of the meeting, as a sign of gratitude for the successful cooperation and partnership so far, General Lafchiski presented Lieutenant Colonel Rufolo with the Grand Plaque of the Army.
