The members of the 2nd Infantry Battalion (2nd IB), which is a declared unit of the Army as a light infantry battalion, with today’s lineup started the challenge of successfully doing the planned training with today’s lineup. This training should provide full evaluation readiness according to the highest NATO standards in the next year. The training starts with a realization in phases for each individual and ends with the whole unit.
With the previously done training of the members of the first and second infantry company of the Light Infantry Battalion, at the army training area Penush in Stip, the members of the third infantry company, also, underwent individual training in the course of this week, which represents official preparation for the realization of the collective training which will follow in the coming period.
The realization of the individual training in field conditions is an excellent opportunity to repeat the lessons learned in individual techniques, and at the same time for the newly recruited members to be trained in individual techniques and procedures for operating in the battlefield and reaching certain standards.
Movement by azimuth on unknown land day and night, preparation of defense positions, individual combat techniques for attack and defense, day and night, undertaking field operations while in contact were some of the realized topics that were successfully mastered by the members of the infantry company of the Light Infantry Battalion.
During the realization of the training the advisor for Army transformation from the United Kingdom Armed Forces, Brigadier General John Bauron, made a tour of the activities, and was also informed by the commander of the 2nd IB, Lieutenant Colonel Stojance Kostov, about the ongoing training.
After the training visit, Brigadier General Bauron had a working meeting with the Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Mirce Gjorgoski and with the headquarters of the Operations Command in Kumanovo.
