In the period from 5 to 7, June 2019, an Initial Planning Conference (IPC) was held in the “Goce Delcev” barracks in Skopje for the exercise “National Response 19”. IPC was led by the Director of the exercise, Colonel Zhikica Jovanovski from the Joint Operations Command and representatives from Army units participated.
Besides the Army representatives, at the IPC for the exercise “National Response 19” participated representatives from other institutions such as: the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, the Center for Crisis Management, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health and the Red Cross. At this stage, the initial required documents for revising the exercise, the exercise plan, a list of major incidents, the drafts of laws and regulations, as well as the organization of logistic support were prepared.
The forthcoming exercise “National Response 19” is planned to take place in the barracks “Jane Sandanski” and in the wider region of Shtip in September 2019. Its goal is the successful realization and coordination of the work of most entities in dealing with natural disasters on a large scale. In addition to the above mentioned subjects, the exercise will include local self-government, fire-fighting teams, medical teams and public companies from the region.
