On 18th and 19th March an inspection team in accordance with the regulations of the “Vienna Document 2011” came to an evaluation visit of the Joint Operation Command (JOC) and its subordinate units.
The inspection team comprised of representatives of the Armed Forces of R. Austria and R. Slovakia, joined by a team from the department for verification and arms control of the Ministry of Defence of RM, were familiarized with the units` conditions according to the regulations of the specified area.
On 18th March the team visited the JOC and the Reserved Forces at the garrison in Kumanovo, as well as the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade and the Air force Brigade at the garrison in Petrovec. On 19th March they conducted an evaluation visit to the Logistic Support Brigade in Skopje and the Artillery Battalion, a unit within the 1st MIBde, in Prilep.
During the visit the key personnel of the 1stMIBde and its subordinate units familiarized the inspection team with the unit’s history, mission, and organizational structure, the number of personnel and equipment of the units.
The aim of these visits is to exchange information and build trust between the member countries of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), and increase the transparency of the conventional forces.
