Members of the Flight Support Platoon from the Command Company (FSPl/CCoy) within the Air Force WING (af WING) conducted mountaineering training in the Demir Kapija area from 8 to 14 May.
The aim of the training was to maintain and enhance the personnel’s capabilities for performing tasks in inaccessible and complex terrain, as well as for supporting search and rescue operations. The main focus of the training was placed on developing and sustaining the mountaineering skills necessary for the efficient execution of the unit’s tasks.
The training was delivered by qualified and certified instructors from the Special Forces Battalion, in accordance with established training standards and procedures.
Activities from both basic and advanced mountaineering, such as knot tying, climbing and abseiling techniques, use of mountaineering equipment, construction of anchors, installation of rope bridges and systems as well as establishing systems for extraction, evacuation, and safe transportation of injured personnel from inaccessible terrain were carried out during the training.
The training was inspected and monitored by the Air Force WING Commander, together with staff personnel responsible for planning and execution of the training.
This type of training is part of the regular overall individual and collective training of the FSPl/CCoy personnel, aimed at maintaining operational readiness, interoperability, and the capability to effectively support the mission of the unit.
