The service personnel of the Flight Support Platoon from the Command Company (FSPlt/CCoy) of the Air Force VING (VING), successfully conducted rappelling training in the Demir Kapija area during the period from 11 to 17 September 2025.
The objective of the training was to prepare the FSPlt/CCoy personnel to perform tasks in unfamiliar and difficult-to-access terrain, with a focus on developing mountaineering skills essential for the effective execution of the unit’s mission. The training was led by qualified and certified instructors from the Special Forces Battalion.
The program covered a wide range of basic and advanced mountaineering techniques, including: knot tying, climbing and descending rock surfaces, use of climbing and rappelling equipment, anchor point construction, bridge and zipline building, as well as developing systems for extraction and evacuation of casualties from inaccessible terrain and their safe transportation.
The training was inspected and supervised by the Chief of Staff of the VING, accompanied by staff members responsible for training implementation within the VING.
This type of training is part of the regular training calendar for FSPolt/CCoy personnel and aims to routinely refresh knowledge and skills, which is crucial for the unconditional and effective execution of the unit’s mission.
