As part of the regular plans for training of the units at the beginning of summer and the increasing risk of fire outbreaks, at the barracks “Chedo Filipovski–Dame” in Kichevo the members of the 1st Infantry Battalion (1st IBn) within the 1st Infantry Brigade (1st IBr) in cooperation with the territorial fire-fighting unit (TFFU) from Kichevo, organized and carried out a firefighting training.
During the training which had both a theoretical and a practical part, the firefighters demonstrated and explained the common causes of fires, preventive firefighting measures and activities that should be undertaken in order to extinguish a fire with the means and equipment, which the 1st IBn has at its disposal.
As part of the practical part of the training there was a demonstration of the TFFU`s firefighting equipment in Kichevo. The TFFU professional team also demonstrated procedures to put out a fire, such as preparation and use of a firefighting vehicle, use of firefighting equipment when extinguishing a fire and other procedures.
In the period that follows, this kind of firefighting training in cooperation with the territorial firefighting units will be carried out in the other units from the 1st IBr.
