Today, at barracks “Boro Menkov” in Kumanovo, 11th March – the Army Reserve Forces Day was celebrated.
The celebration was attended by the Commander of the Joint Operations Command (JOC), Major General Pavle Arsoski, JOC Deputy Commander Brigadier General Orce Jordev, Commanders of other units of the Army, representatives of the Reserve Officers Association and representatives of the local government of municipality Kumanovo.
The Commander of the unit Colonel Kjiro Kalkov, addressing the audience, said that they are honoured to continue upholding the traditions of an event from recent history, when at the border post “Ramna Niva” in Kriva Palanka on 11th March 1992 our country’s flag was raised for the first time, which was the final step in establishing the territorial integrity of our country and marked the founding of our Army.
JOC Commander Major General Pavle Arsoski highlighted that the Command of the Reserve Forces has had a significant role in the development and the establishment of the commands and units of the Army in both the active and the reserve forces.
Incentive awards were given to individual members of the unit for their accomplishments at work and congratulations notes for the day of the unit were read.
Today’s date, 11th March, has been assigned as the Army Reserve Forces Day and it marks the taking over of the first border post “Ramna Niva” in Kriva Palanka.
