On 21 May 2026, at the “Chede Filipovski – Dame” barracks in Kichevo, with a military ceremony members of the 1st Infantry Battalion (1st IBn) part of the 1st Infantry Brigade (1st IBde), marked 21 May – the Day of the Unit, commemorating the 83rd anniversary of the formation of the Kichevo-Mariovo Partisan Detachment.
On the occasion of the celebration, the Commander of the 1st IBde, Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski and the commander of the 1st IBn, Lieutenant Colonel Zoranche Ristovski addressed the present audience with appropriate speeches. In their addresses they reviewed the activities carried out and the results achieved by the unit during the past period, as well as the tasks and challenges awaiting the unit in the period ahead.
Prior to the Day of the Unit, in cooperation with the Red Cross and the Department of Transfusiology, a blood donating activity was organized, during which 96 blood units were collected, once again confirming the humanitarian spirit and social responsibility of the battalion members.
During the ceremony, the Reconnaissance Platoon of the Command Company was declared the best platoon in the unit.
The ceremony was attended by former commanders and retired officers from the unit, representatives of state institutions, public administration and services, representatives of the local government from the relevant area of responsibility, and also some legal entities and private individuals the unit cooperates with.
