Today in the barracks “National Hero Strasho Pindzur” in Petrovec, a ceremony was held on the occasion of the celebration of July 5 – Day of the Helicopter Squadron (HS).
At the military ceremony in the “NH Strasho Pindzur” barracks in Petrovec, the AF WING Commander, Colonel Igorcho Stoimenovski and the HS Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Femi Lumani addressed the audience.
In their addresses, Colonel Stoimenovski and Lieutenant Colonel Femi Lumani referred to the processes of integration and modernization of the HS, in accordance with the full membership of the Republic of North Macedonia in NATO. In that context, in the upcoming period, the Helicopter Squadron is expected to be equipped with multi-purpose Italian helicopters type AW149 and AW169M, which will have a wide range of capabilities for air support of the Army units, as well as for supporting civil institutions during natural disasters and emergencies.
As part of the ceremony, incentive measures were awarded to members of the unit, while former commanders were awarded recognition for their contribution to the development of the unit.
