Today, in the “Strasho Pindzur” barracks in Petrovec and “Mirche Acev” barracks in Prilep, a commemoration was held to mark their patrons and 83rd anniversary of the death of the national heroes Strasho Pindzur and Mirche Acev.
In the Petrovec barracks fresh flowers were laid by a delegation of the command of the 1st Infantry Brigade (1stIBde), the command of the Air Force VING, and representatives of the municipality of Kavadarci. In the Prilep barracks, fresh flowers were laid by a delegation of the Command of the Prilep Garrison, a delegation of the 1st IBde, the municipality of Prilep, the Union of Fighters from Prilep, and students from the Secondary School “Mirche Acev” in Prilep, along with other guests.
The representative of the museum of Kavadarci, historian curator Maria Mihova, held a speech about the life and work of the national hero Strasho Pindzur to the attendees in “Petrovec” barracks. While at the commemoration of the patron saint of the Prilep barracks, the Commander of the Artillery Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Sashko Paleski, addressed the audience regarding the life and work of the national hero Mirche Acev. He emphasized that the commemoration of the patron strengthens the traditions of the rich Macedonian history and that the members of the Army are obliged to respect the deeds and sacrifices of all fighters for a free and independent state. Students from the Secondary School “Mirche Acev” in Prilep performed a suitable recital in the barracks.
