In the barracks “Jane Sandanski” in Shtip, the members of the 2. Infantry battalion and the rest of the units from the barracks organized a military ceremony celebrating the 22nd of April, the patron holiday of the barracks, and at the same time totally observing the recommendations and measures against the spread of the virus “COVID-19”.
A delegation from the Operations Command led by Colonel Sasho Ivanovski, deputy of the commander of 1.infantry brigade Vasko Kokolanski and the mayor of Shtip municipality attended the ceremony and paid tribute to the great Macedonian revolutionary and voivode Jane Sandanski by placing fresh cut flowers.
The commander of 2.infantry battalion, lieutenant colonel Stojanche Kostov, held an appropriate speech addressing the character and achievement of Jane Sandanski and pointed out that by celebrating it each year we would contribute for his name and achievements to live in the minds of future generations.
On the occasion of this day, donation of blood was previously organized in collaboration with the International Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia and a humanitarian aid action was carried out by the staff in the barracks “Jane Sandanski”, in which humanitarian packages of clothing and food were delivered to the International Red Cross – Shtip for the socially vulnerable category of citizens, the Daily center of persons with intellectual or physical disabilities and autism, the small foster care for orphans and the classes for children with special needs in “Vancho Prke” – Shtip primary school.
