In the “Jane Sandanski” barracks in Shtip, the members of the 2nd Infantry Battalion and other units from the barracks celebrated April 22, the day of the barracks, with a military ceremony.
The celebration was attended by a delegation from the 1st Infantry Brigade (1st InfBde) led by Brigadier Sashko Lafchiski, representatives from MOC – Bregalnica Diocese, the municipality of Shtip, the Rector of the Goce Delchev University in Shtip, the Union of Fighters from Shtip, the Sector of Interior, Shtip, directors of public enterprises, representatives from municipalities and local governments in the area of responsibility of the unit, as well as from secondary schools from Shtip.
The event began with laying fresh flowers, and paying tribute to the great Macedonian revolutionary and leader Jane Sandanski. This year is the 109 anniversary of the death of Jane Sandanski, and the barracks received the name “Jane Sandanski” when the Army was formed.
A speech was given by the Commander of the 2nd Infantry Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Zoran Sumrachki, who referred to the deеd of Jane Sandanski, noting that by commemorating each year, we contribute to his name and work remaining in the memories of the future generations.
The celebration was enriched with reading an essay about Jane Sandanski by the students from “Kole Nehtenin” Secondary School, and musical performances by the students from the “Sergei Mihailov” Secondary Music School and the City Chamber Choir “Astibo” from Shtip.
