In the barracks “Kuzman Josifovski-Pitu” in Tetovo, with a military ceremony, the members of the 3rd Infantry Battalion (3rd InfBn) within the 1st Infantry Brigade (1stInfBde) and the other units stationed in the barracks marked 25 February – the Patron of the barracks and eighty years since the death of the national hero Kuzman Josifoski – Pitu.
The commemoration was attended by the Minister of Defense, Ms. Slavjanka Petrovska, the Commander of the 1st InfBde, Brigadier General Sashko Lafchiski, a delegation from the 3rd InfBn, the National Liberation Fighters’ Union from Tetovo, the National Liberation Fighters’ Union from Gostivar, the Organization of Reserve Officers of Macedonia (OROM) from Tetovo, the Union of Military Invalids, Board of Defenders of Tetovo and representatives of the local government, governmental and non-governmental organizations, representatives from the state and private sector with whom the Tetovo garrison command has excellent cooperation. They all paid tribute to the national hero Kuzman Josifovski-Pitu by laying fresh flowers.
The Commander of the 3rd InfBn, Lieutenant Colonel Tomica Ristoski gave a speech on the occasion of the Patron’s Day of the barracks in Tetovo. He referred to the life and work of Kuzman Josifovski-Pitu, stressing that celebrating the patron’s day contributes his name and work to be remembered by the future generations.
The Minister of Defense, Ms. Slavjanka Petrovska and the other present guests signed the book of impressions in the memorial room of the Tetovo garrison.
On the occasion of this day, a blood donation by the memebrs of Tetovo garrison was carried out, during which 30 units of blood were donated.
