On the occasion of twenty-three years since the death of Tetovo garrison security forces members in the conflict in 2001, in the national hero “Kuzman Josifovski-Pitu” barracks in Tetovo, a commemoration was held and fresh flowers were laid in front of the memorial plaque placed in their honor in front of the Command of Tetovo garrison.
The members of the Army from the Tetovo garrison paid respect to the deceased Staff Sergeant 1st Class Isak Rufati and professional soldiers Nikolche Kitanov, Blashko Tolev, Vlatko Milenkovski, Blagoja Siljanovski and Pece Matichevski.
The Commander of Tetovo garrison, Lieutenant Colonel Tomica Ristoski held a speech. In his speech, he paid tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives for the defense of their homeland emphasizing that it is our duty to remember their sacrifice, courage and patriotism.
The commemoration was attended by a delegation from the Command of Tetovo garrison, a delegation from the Command of the First Infantry Brigade, the Union of Fighters – Tetovo, the Union of Fighters – Gostivar, OROM Tetovo, the Union of Military Invalids and the Association of Veterans – Tetovo.
