The Chief of G-6 of the United States European Command, Brigadier General John Phillips and high representatives of the Army paid a visit to the Signals Battalion. The guests were welcomed by the Signals Battalion Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Ilija Damchevski. Lieutenant Colonel Damchevski pointed out that the Signals Battalion is an exceptionally important element in the Army formation and in accordance with the mission, they are installing and maintaining the fixed and mobile connections, or in other words, they are integrating them into the global communications system of the Army which is necessary for the commanding process and the communication in peacetime and wartime conditions.
The guests had the opportunity to see the presentation on the integration of the mobile part of the communication and information system in the Global Communications and Information System of the Army and the interoperability of the systems and communication devices of the newest technology ICS-4 (Integrated Communications System) in the Signals Battalion and the Army units, which together with the highly professional officers and civilians leads to a successful completion of the unit’s mission.
The goal of the visit to the Battalion by the high representatives is to learn about the opportunities offered by the United States European Command and to exchange experience in the organization of the trans-continental communications, interoperability and frequency management.
