Today, the UK Ministry of Defence Director of International Security Policy Mr. Nick Gurr visited the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade (1MIBde). He was accompanied by the United Kingdom Defence Attaché to the Republic of North Macedonia Lieutenant Colonel Layton Andrew.
During his visit of the 1MIBde he was briefed about the unit’s history and mission, including unit’s organization, formation and structure, equipment, sub-unit’s location and training area. Additionally, he was briefed about the brigade’s upcoming activities, its transformation in accordance with the NATO standards in order to have smooth NATO integration.
At the military barracks NH Strasho Pindjur in Petrovec, the Director saw the demonstration of two scenarios, “Mobile control point” and “Cordon and crowd control”. Namely, the 1MIBn and 2MIBn service personnel within 1MIBde demonstrated both scenarios with high professionalism, showing their excellent training and skills in completing urban terrain tasks.
